On March 13, 2020 the world as we know it was turned upside down. The declaration of a state of emergency by our government and the resulting shutdown of large parts of the economy precipitated a decline in business that for a time had no end in sight. It has been a very unsettling and stressful time for us all.
Over the past three months Cooper Equipment has worked through many challenges to our business caused by the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic. Throughout this crisis we have remained steadfastly committed to:
1. The safety, health and welfare of our employees
2. The continued support and welfare of our customers
3. The long-term financial viability of our company
In the past 4-6 weeks we have seen business steadily increasing in all regions of Canada. The daily activity in our branches is increasing. The government is slowly and cautiously opening more of the economy and there is a strong indication that Canada will continue to transition to a “new normal” over the next couple of months with the construction sector leading the way.
All Cooper branches have remained open for business and we are extremely proud and thankful for the way all of our employees have rallied to safely provide vital equipment rental services to our customers who are performing essential work during the COVID-19 outbreak.
We know that this has been a very uncertain time for you, our customers, as well. We applaud you for facing and dealing with the many unforeseen challenges to your businesses, families, friends and colleagues. We understand that ensuring the safety and well-being of your employees, managing through construction delays and closures, and obtaining necessary labour and supplies to perform important work has not been easy.
We at Cooper want to let you know we appreciate you and we want to say thank you for your continued support over more than forty-five years in business, and especially throughout these unprecedented times.
It remains unclear how long this health crisis will last and when some of the measures taken by our health authorities and governments will ease further, but we are confident that by continuing to work together and by continuing to support and encourage safe work practices, we will get through this and be stronger for it. We are committed to continuously serving the communities we live, work and play in. The future is local.
We’d also like to share with you this video of our Cooper team helping to keep our customers safe and disinfecting equipment before its next rental.
Stay safe. Stay healthy.
