Cooper Equipment Rentals’ Golden Equipment Campaign

At Cooper, we believe in building stronger communities—one rental, one initiative, one life-changing impact at a time. This time, with a focus on mental health for children and families, our Golden Equipment Campaign has raised vital funds to support children’s health across Canada, and we’re proud to share how this initiative has grown year after year.

Golden Equipment Campaign 2022

In 2025, we continued building on last year’s momentum – raising a total of $150,000 to support children and families across Canada.

Of that, $105,000 was directed to 14 partner organizations nationwide, funding critical care, early intervention, and community support for children and youth from British Columbia to Atlantic Canada.

An additional $45,000 was donated to our longstanding national partners: $25,000 to Movember, advancing men’s health initiatives, and $20,000 to Steps for Life, supporting families affected by workplace tragedies.

Every dollar raised reflects the generosity of our customers, team members, and partners who show up for their communities – not just on a job site, but where it counts most.

In 2024, we dedicated our annual fundraising efforts to supporting children and family mental health in the communities where we live and work.

With growing demand for mental health resources and early intervention programs, this year’s campaign focused on empowering the organizations working on the front lines of this vital cause.

Thanks to the generosity of our customers, team members, and partners, we proudly raised $160,000 in total. Of that, $110,000 was donated to 11 organizations across Canada that provide critical support to children and youth facing mental health challenges. These organizations work tirelessly to ensure young people receive the care, guidance, and resources they need to thrive.

The remaining $50,000 was donated to two causes we’ve proudly supported year after year: Movember, advancing men’s health initiatives, and Steps for Life, supporting families affected by workplace tragedies.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this campaign a success. Your support is helping change lives—and strengthen communities—across the country.

Building on the success of its inaugural year, Cooper’s Golden Equipment Campaign continued to grow in 2023—raising over $150,000 to support a wide range of impactful causes.

This year’s campaign extended beyond our national charity partners, Movember, Steps for Life, and Variety Village’s Volt Hockey, and also provided funding to more than 15 local charities across the regions where Cooper operates. These included food banks, children’s hospitals, and mental health service providers, helping us reach even more communities in meaningful ways.

The campaign’s success was driven by strong support from our customers, team members, and vendor partners, reinforcing our commitment to giving back and making a difference where we live and work.

To help mark Cooper Equipment Rentals’ 50th anniversary, we launched the Golden Equipment Campaign—a nationwide initiative aimed at raising funds for two organizations close to our hearts: Steps for Life and Movember.

In the first year of the campaign, we were proud to raise $100,000 in support of these two well-deserving charities.

Funds were generated through the rental of 10 pieces of specially branded gold equipment, including eight golden excavators, one golden trench shield, and one 6-inch pump. Half of the rental revenue from these machines was donated directly to the cause.

To boost awareness, we launched a social media campaign using the hashtag #SpotCooperGold. Customers who spotted one of the golden machines and shared it online received a prize in appreciation of their support.

Fifty percent of the fundraising was split between:

  • Steps for Life, a 5 km fundraising walk supporting families affected by workplace tragedy, and
  • Movember, the leading global charity focused on men’s health.

“The safety and well-being of our employees and customers is always a top priority at Cooper, so we’re excited about the Golden Equipment Campaign as a fun way to raise much-needed funds and awareness for two charities that are close to our hearts,” said Cooper CEO Doug Dougherty. “We’re grateful to our vendor partners, Oaken Equipment and Brandt, for being supportive and helping us get this campaign launched.”

With the exception of the gold trench shield and 6-inch pump, which remained in Ontario, one piece of gold equipment was stationed in each of Cooper’s eight regions at the time: British Columbia, Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta, Northern Ontario, Southern Ontario, Ottawa, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada.
