Movember - Brian Shave-Off Before and After

At Cooper, we’re big fans of men’s health. That’s why our team is proud to participate in Movember each year, to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate, and testicular cancer research. For the third year in a row our team members from British Colombia to Nova Scotia came together to support this great cause by raising donations for Cooper’s official Movember team 

As we continued to grow our involvement (and our moustaches) with this year’s campaign, we enhanced our communication strategy and team involvement with live events, team meetings, and a best moustache competition to get people excited about these traditionally uncomfortable conversations surrounding men’s health. 

 

Movember Shave-Off Event and Instagram Live 

On November 1st, the Cooper team launched our Movember campaign with our first ever Shave-Off event which was held at our Corporate Head Office in Mississauga, Ontario. Team members from across Ontario were invited to enjoy a complimentary hot shave and bare it all for men’s health.

Special thanks to Mikka from Barbers to Go for coordinating the on-site barber for the event with us and to Jorge (@King.Barberia) for the outstanding service.  

Social media users were invited to tune in and participate in a special Instagram Live experience that took place during the Shave-Off event. Nearly 100 viewers attended virtually and participated in the highly active chat, sharing their support for the team from around the country. 

 

Raising Awareness: Cooper Cares about Men’s Health 

Movember is one of the national Cooper Cares initiatives that we participate in as a collective group. From coast to coast, the Cooper team rallies together in support of this universal cause to make an impact on the perception and treatment of men’s health issues.

Raising awareness is an important part of this annual campaign and we believe that education should start internally. With upwards of 900 team members across Canada, educating our Cooper family about these topics has become a key part of our Movember communication strategy. That’s why we invited a representative from Movember to conduct a virtual hour-long presentation for all Cooper employees on November 18, 2022. 

Over the course of this year’s campaign, we had outstanding participation with dozens of employees growing impressive moustaches, collecting donations, and making contributions to ensure our campaign was a success.

After it’s all said and done, we are extremely proud of our team from growing out of their comfort zone in support of our 2022 Movember campaign. Our team collected $9,775 in donations and tracked 119 KM of physical activity in support of Cooper’s official Movember team.

Cooper 50th Anniversary: Golden Equipment Fundraiser  

In 2022, Cooper Equipment Rentals celebrated its 50th year of business and in recognition of this significant milestone, we conducted a yearlong Golden Equipment fundraising campaign in support of two Cooper Cares initiatives; Movember and Steps for Life.

With 10 brand-new pieces of Golden Equipment added to our rental fleet and dispersed across Canada, we set forth on a mission to raise $25,000 for each charity by donating 50% of rental revenues generated by this specially marked equipment. As of December 1st, our team has surpassed our fundraising goal and will continue to raise funds until the end of the year before making an official donation in January of 2023.
