AWP/MEWP: Mobile Elevating Work Platforms and Lifts
- Monday, November 30 2020
- 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
The Aerial Work Platform (AWP) Training Program for scissor lifts, booms and manlifts consists of two segments:
Phase One consists of an in-class theoretical course which includes a competency evaluation and review.
Phase Two consists of an on-site evaluation which will verify the individual’s ability to operate a specific lift, in a safe manner.
Phase One: Theory
The Aerial Work Platforms and Lifts Certification Program will provide a general understanding of the safe and efficient operation of “Power Operated Mobile Work Platforms.” Participants will be able to identify specific health and safety hazards associated with operating manlifts and booms.
Phase Two: Practical Evaluation
All operators must successfully complete the theoretical portion of this Program prior to being evaluated for on-site specific equipment.
Each individual will be tested to ensure they can safely and efficiently operate any site specific equipment. Evaluations will be completed during regular working shifts, wherever possible. On successful completion of both parts of this Program, the participant will be certified to operate “Power Elevated Mobile Aerial Work Platforms, Booms and Manlifts.”
The Aerial Work Platforms and Lifts Certification Program is available to qualified individuals and companies as well as to Cooper Equipment Rental customers across Ontario and Quebec.
